My journey behind the lens began at 14, when my father gifted me my first 'real' camera—a Nikon D60. Back then, I was a teenager who romanticized herself as a free spirit roaming this world. Perhaps I still do, in whatever way I can. Before moving to the United States, I spent my days wandering the streets of my hometown, Nanjing, China. Whether I had my Nikon or just an old Nokia camera phone in hand, I was always documenting the world around me. These photos are more than just images; they are a time machine back to where it all started.
